The God Who Reveals Secrets

Our lives may seem a tangle; but as we commit ourselves to the wise Master Worker, He will bring out the pattern of life and character that will be to His own glory. Ellen White - Desire of Ages p.331

God is working behind the scenes. Even though it doesn't always make sense to us, we can trust Him.

It's amazing to watch God weaving things together. This week at church, a man showed up that we didn't know. A young lady who used to come to our church and her husband also happened to come for a visit. I noticed them saying "hi" to the unknown man. So I figured that he was their friend, as sometimes, when they visit, a friend or two will also come.

A little later, at lunch, I was informed that the young lady knew this man because our previous pastor's wife had informed her, at some point, that he was a pedophile and also the young lady had run across him at another church. He managed to position himself directly across from the only family with kids in the church, that day, and began trying to make "friends." The young lady, her husband, and her parents all sat around him, to keep an eye on him.

Apparently, this man was asked to come speak at our church in March. He is new at our sister church and the interim pastor put him on the schedule. Our interim pastor was out of town and so we didn't get to inform him of what we'd found out. Later, a church member asked a friend in the area our former pastor's wife was from, if she knew anything about this man and the lady looked up his name. Through her search, she discovered that he indeed had a public record in that area. The same friend called a pastor that had been the pastor in the area for many years, only to discover a horrible story. Apparently, this man had molested his daughter or step-daughter since she was 3. The girl told her mother when she was a teenager and the mother was devastated. The girl was so messed up by this she ended up committing suicide. The man is not allowed to even set foot in the two churches this pastor had pastored. This pastor says this man should never be in one of our churches - ever. Another story related that he was also a danger to women. Why is this man still walking free? I don't know, but I cringe to think about what could have happened if the young lady hadn't showed up the same day.

God wanted us to know about this person-He wanted to warn and protect. Now we can inform our pastor and he can keep our sister church safe as well. God works in mysterious ways. I just pray this man is somehow stopped before he hurts anyone else.

The speaker, that day, kept saying something that is so awesome. He was saying - our God is a God who reveals secrets. Here are the the two verses that was the theme of the day:

But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets - Daniel 2:28

‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ Jeremiah 33:3

Our God is a God who reveals secrets! We had no idea, as we were listening to the sermon, just how true that was for us that day. God is good!!
